KEANE FAMILY HOME

The brief for our own home was to build something contemporary but durable that could withstand the rigours of everyday family life. 

Choice of materials was a key component in achieving a low maintenance home. Polished concrete floors stretch throughout the kitchen, dining, living and bathrooms. Black steel cladding is accentuated by Abodo timber. Abodo timber is also used on internal walls in the kitchen and living where Chris charred the timber to a rich black finish.

Outside, timber decking runs the length of the dining and living rooms. This leads to a sunken concrete fire pit, designed for entertaining for years to come.
